Ways to Add a Sender to Your Contacts


On a Computer:

  1. Open Gmail and find an email from the sender.
  2. Hover over the sender’s name or email address.
  3. Click "More Info" (person icon with a plus sign).

Select "Add to Contacts" and save any additional details.



On a Computer:

  1. Go to Google Contacts. It can also be found in the Google waffle by your username.
  2. Click the “Create contact” button (top left).
  3. Select “Create a contact” or “Create multiple contacts” if adding more than one.
  4. Enter the name and email address of the contact.
  5. (Optional) Add additional details like phone number or notes.
  6. Click “Save”.

On a Mobile Device (Gmail App):

  1. Open the Gmail app and find an email from the sender.
  2. Tap on the sender’s name or email address.
  3. Choose "Add to Contacts" or "Create New Contact".
  4. Enter details if needed and tap "Save".



Why This Helps

  • Gmail prioritizes emails from known contacts.
  • Emails from contacts are less likely to be quarantined or marked as spam.
  • Helps avoid missing important messages.
