Starting in January 2023, Blue Ridge Community College has deployed a new, easier to use online registration system for our Continuing Education courses.


How to Register For Continuing Education Classes Online


  1. Navigate to Our Continuing Education Registration Home Page
    • We strongly recommend using a well supported web browser (Google Chrome, FireFox, Microsoft Edge, Safari) that is reasonably up-to-date on software updates.
  2. Click the "Register Online (CE)" link in the middle of the web page
  3. You should now be presented with the "Catalog Advanced Search" screen (see screenshot image below)
  4. You can search for courses of interest by specifying one or more criteria.
    • Multiple search criteria are process as A and B. Therefore, searching by both the keyword "computer" and selecting Time Of Day equal to 'evening' will only show courses where the word "computer" appears in either the course name or description and where each class session starts between 4 PM - 8 PM.
    • Using the search criteria screen, you can limit results based on:
      • Keywords found in the course title or description. For example, "accounting", "cybersecurity", "painting", "history".
      • The overall course start or end dates
      • Whether the class is taught at a specific location or online
      • The time of day each class session meets

  5. Once you have provided search criteria and pressed the "Submit" button at the bottom of the "Catalog Advanced Search" page, you should see a list of courses that meet your criteria
    • If there are no results displayed, try using fewer criteria or consider using alternative keywords
  6. When viewing the search results list, please select courses where there are available seats
    • For each course listed, there is a "Seats" field that is in the format: "available seats / capacity / waitlist"
    • For example, (see screenshot image below)
      • "19 / 20 / 0" means there are 19 seats available out of a capacity of 20 seats
      • "0  / 20 / 0" means there are no seats available. All 20 seats have been taken.
  7. Once you have found a course of interest, click the "Select" button to add it to your "cart"
  8. You can add as many courses as you wish to your "cart"
  9. Once you have finished selecting classes to take, click the "Next" button towards the top of the screen
  10. The next screen is the "Person Identification" screen
    • We have served over 600,000 students over the history of Blue Ridge Community College.
    • We are required by law to ensure academic records are accurate and associated with the correct individual
    • Therefore, we ask that you please fill out the information on this screen as accurately as possible
    • In order to uniquely identify you, you might be required to enter your Social Security Number
  11. Once you have completed the "Personal Information" screen, you will be presented with the "Educational Goals" screen.
    • Although the fields on this screen are optional, please consider selecting appropriate choices.
    • This information is helps the College better understand the needs of our students and can help us ensure we are meeting the needs of our community.
  12. The final screen is the payment screen. Payment is processed by a 3rd party using a secure website. Please enter credit card payment details. 
  13. Once you successfully register for the course, a confirmation message will appear on the screen and a registration confirmation email and payment receipt will be sent to the email address provided
