Classroom: Wirelessly Present to a Smartboard TV
Faculty can use a Blue Ridge-issued Windows laptop to wirelessly present to a Smartboard TV using the SMART Mirror application.
Wireless presentation can provide video, audio, and touchscreen functionality. However, wireless connections may occasionally produce lower-quality or choppy video.
For the best performance and reliability, a wired connection at the classroom podium is recommended whenever possible.
Before You Begin
The SMART Mirror application is automatically installed on Blue Ridge-issued Windows laptops.
If SMART Mirror prompts you to install an application update, select Remind Me Later or Skip.
Do not allow SMART Mirror to update itself. IT will deploy approved application updates to Blue Ridge computers.
Connect Using a Blue Ridge Windows Laptop
- Make sure your laptop is connected to the brcc-employee-wireless network.
- On the Smartboard TV, go to the Home screen.
- Select Screen Share.

- Select Screen Share.
- Select your active session.

Always disconnect your session when you are finished using the classroom.
Guests, Mac Users, and Mobile Devices
Wireless presentation from devices other than Blue Ridge-issued Windows laptops may require additional setup.
For assistance with a guest device, Mac, smartphone, or other personal device, contact IT or Media Services before your planned presentation whenever possible.
SMART Mirror Application
Users who need to install SMART Mirror can obtain the appropriate application from SMART Technologies:
Installation may require administrator permissions depending on the device.
Training Video
A detailed SMART Mirror video tutorial is also available.
The video includes software installation steps that are not necessary on Blue Ridge-issued Windows laptops because SMART Mirror is already installed.
