In the event of an emergency in the classroom or office, employees have the ability to summon help two ways.
The first step is always call 911, if at all possible.
If it is safe for you to type a short explanation of the emergency
- Double click the "Blue Ridge Alert" icon on your desktop and enter descriptive text.
- The Blue Ridge CC Crisis Team receives the alert and descriptive text.
- The team determines an appropriate response based on the available information.
- If appropriate, an alert message is broadcast. If an alert message is triggered:
- Alert message appears on employee and instructor computers
- Text messages sent to all BRCC Alert subscribers
- E-mail sent to all BRCC Alert subscribers
If it is NOT safe or you are unable to type a short explanation of the emergency
- Simultaneously press F9 and F11 to SILENTLY ALERT the Blue Ridge CC Crisis Team
- The Blue Ridge CC Crisis Team receives the alert.
- The team determines an appropriate response based on the available information.
- If appropriate, an alert message is broadcast. If an alert message is triggered:
- Alert message appears on employee and instructor computers
- Text messages sent to all BRCC Alert subscribers
- E-mail sent to all BRCC Alert subscribers
