When to use this
Clear your browser’s cache, temporary files, and cookies if webpages look odd, won’t load, or keep showing outdated info.
What to clear (and what not to)
- Do clear: Cached images/files, temporary files, cookies (site data).
- Time range: All time (or Everything).
- Do not clear: Saved passwords, form/AutoFill data, or your browsing history (unless you specifically want to).
- Expect to be signed out of most sites after clearing cookies.
Quick, generic steps
- Open your browser’s Clear browsing data (often Ctrl+Shift+Delete on Windows or ⌘+Shift+Delete on Mac).
- Set Time range to All time/Everything.
- Check Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files (and any “temporary files”).
- Uncheck options for Passwords, AutoFill/form data, and Browsing history.
- Click Clear/Delete.
- Close all browser windows and reopen the browser.
If a site still misbehaves, try its private/incognito mode or clear data for that single site from your browser’s site settings.

Tips
- If you use multiple browsers (e.g., Chrome and Safari), clear data in the one you’re actually using for the problem site.
- If you rely on saved logins, consider using your browser’s password manager or a dedicated one before clearing cookies.
- After clearing, restart your browser to ensure changes take effect.
