Cisco Phones: 8811 Series Quick Reference
Most Blue Ridge employees use a Cisco 8811 Series desk phone. This guide covers the most common calling features.
Place a Call
Pick up the handset and enter a phone number or extension.
You can also enter the number first and then press Call, lift the handset, or press the Speakerphone button.
Redial the Last Number
Press Redial to call the last number dialed.
Answer a Call
To answer an incoming call, lift the handset or press the flashing line button.
You can also use the Speakerphone button to answer the call.
Answer Multiple Calls
If another call comes in while you are already on a call:
- Select the incoming call.
- Press the flashing line button or select Answer.
Your first call will automatically be placed on hold.
Put a Call on Hold
- Press Hold.
- To resume the call, press the flashing line button, Resume, or Hold again.
Transfer a Call
- While on a call, press Transfer.
- Enter the extension or phone number of the person receiving the call.
- Press Transfer again to complete the transfer.
You can complete the transfer before or after the other person answers.
Create a Conference Call
- While on a call, press Conference.
- Place a new call to the person you want to add.
- Press Conference again to add the person to the call.
- Repeat these steps to add additional participants.
The conference ends when all participants hang up.
Mute Your Microphone
Press Mute while on a call to prevent other participants from hearing you.
Press Mute again to turn your microphone back on.
Access Voicemail
Press the Messages button and follow the voicemail prompts.
Send a Call Directly to Voicemail
Press Divert while an incoming call is ringing to send it directly to voicemail.
Forward Your Calls
- Press Forward All.
- Enter the extension or phone number where you want your calls forwarded.
To forward calls directly to voicemail, press the Messages button after selecting Forward All.
To stop forwarding calls, press Forward Off.
View Call History
- Press Applications.
- Select Call History.
- Select a line to view its call history.
- Select a call to return the call.
Call History displays recent missed, placed, and received calls.
